What do I need to prepare when renting a car?

On the day, you will need to present your driver's license and, as a general rule, payment will only be accepted in cash.

What kind of driver's license do I need to drive in Japan?

A valid international driving license in the format prescribed by the Geneva Convention is acceptable.

*If you hold a driver's license from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Taiwan, Monaco or Estonia, you must attach an official translation issued by the Japan Automobile Federation or an embassy.

Can anyone other than the applicant drive the rental car?
